Rabbi Yosef, of the fourth amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, carries the Eretz-Yisrael title, and it is the title alone that keeps him apart in this index from the great Babylonian Rav Yosef bar Chiya — one letter, and the index is not permitted to merge them.

He is named five times, twice in Yevamot and once each in Berachot, Niddah and Zevachim. The roster marks the entry for review; beyond the generation and those citations, little more can be said with confidence.
