The Sages of the Talmud

רבי יוסי בן המשולם Rabbi Yose ben HaMeshulam

Tanna · 3rd generation (c. 110–135 CE) — named 20 times across 4 tractates of the Bavli.

Rabbi Yose ben HaMeshulam, of the third tannaitic generation, belonged to the holy congregation in Jerusalem — the circle the sources name that way, who divided their day between Torah, prayer and work.

His presence in the Bavli is remarkably concentrated: of his twenty mentions, fifteen are in Bechorot, where Rav ruled that the law follows him. It is the narrow signature of a tanna whose few positions became fixed points in one body of law rather than a voice heard across the Mishnah.
