Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation×17 named in the Bavli10 tractates

Rabbi Yitzchak bar Nachmani, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael. He is named some seventeen times across ten tractates, heaviest in Chullin, and several of his citations carry a teaching in Shmuel's or Reish Lakish's name.

Rabbi Shimon ben Pazi and Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi are the names he stands beside most, which places him among the Eretz-Yisrael sages of his generation and not much further; the reference tradition adds little.

Of Eretz Yisrael.
