Rabbi Yirmiya bar Abba, of the second Babylonian generation, was a student and a companion of Rav. The Bavli writes him with both titles, רב and רבי, which is why the roster marks the entry for review.

He is named some forty times across fifteen tractates, heaviest in Sanhedrin and Chullin, and he is as often the one quoting as the one quoted — the profile of a transmitter. He carries teachings in Rav's name several times over, and Rav Chisda, Rabbi Zeira and Rav Yehuda carry his.

A companion of Rav; the Bavli writes him with both רב and רבי.
