The Sages of the Talmud

רבי יהודה בן אגרא Rabbi Yehuda ben Agra

Tanna · 3rd generation (c. 110–135 CE) — named 10 times across 2 tractates of the Bavli.

Rabbi Yehuda ben Agra, of the third tannaitic generation. He is named some ten times in only two tractates, nine of them in Niddah — the narrowest footprint of any tanna in this range, and the sign of a sage preserved for one position in one body of law.

The entry is marked for review; beyond the generation and that distribution, the reference tradition holds little that can be stated firmly.
