Rabbi Tavla, of the fourth Babylonian generation. He is named some fifteen times across six tractates, seven of them in Eruvin and four in Chullin — a narrow footprint for a sage of his generation.

He carries a teaching in Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi's name, and Rabbi Tanchum carries one in his. The entry is marked for review; he is rarely cited, and the reference tradition holds little about him that can be stated firmly.

Rarely cited.
