רבי שמואל בר רב יצחק Rabbi Shmuel bar Rav Yitzchak
Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation (c. 290–320 CE) — named 25 times across 9 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Shmuel bar Rav Yitzchak, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael. The roster keeps this form apart from the two neighbouring ones — רב שמואל בר רב יצחק and רב שמואל בר יצחק — and marks the entry for review, since the Bavli's spellings of the name do not divide as cleanly as three separate rows suggest.
He is named some twenty-five times across nine tractates, ten of them in Shekalim, whose Gemara in our Shas comes from the Yerushalmi. Three of his citations carry a teaching in Rav's name.
Of Eretz Yisrael.
