רבי שמעון חסידא Rabbi Shimon Chasida
Amora of the Land of Israel · 2nd generation (c. 250–290 CE) — named 19 times across 12 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Shimon Chasida, of the second amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, reaches the Bavli almost entirely through one voice: of the eleven times a teaching is given in his name, ten come through Rav Chana bar Bizna. The pair is one of the Talmud's fixed channels for aggada, and what passes along it is weighty — the passages on Moses at the cleft of the rock, and the teaching that a man should sooner cast himself into a fiery furnace than shame another in public.
He is named close to twenty times across twelve tractates, spread thinly across Berachot, Rosh Hashana, Sotah and Sanhedrin.
Quoted through Rav Chana bar Bizna.
