רבי שילא Rabbi Shila
Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation (c. 290–320 CE) — named 36 times across 14 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Shila, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael — not to be confused with Rav Shela of Babylonia, whose school the Bavli calls bei Rav Shela.
He is named some thirty-six times across fourteen tractates, heaviest in Yoma, Sanhedrin, Berachot, Kiddushin and Sotah. The entry is marked for review; beyond his generation, his centre and the company in which he is cited, the reference tradition holds little about him that can be stated firmly.
Of Eretz Yisrael.
