Rabbi Pinchas, of the fifth amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael; the Bavli writes the name with and without the yud. He is named some sixteen times across nine tractates, six of them in Shekalim, whose Gemara in our Shas comes from the Yerushalmi — which is why so many of the late sages of the land appear there and almost nowhere else.

He carries teachings in the names of Rabbi Hoshaya, Rabbi Levi and Reish Lakish. The entry is marked for review, and this bio says no more than the corpus does.
