רבי מני Rabbi Mani

Amora of the Land of Israel · 5th generation (c. 350–375 CE) — named 27 times across 17 tractates of the Bavli.

Amora of the Land of Israel · 5th generation×27 named in the Bavli17 tractates

Rabbi Mani, of the fifth amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, was of Sepphoris. He is named some twenty-seven times across seventeen tractates, a spread so even that no tractate carries more than three.

Rabbi Assi carries teachings in his name, and he appears beside Abaye and Rav Yosef in the corpus — the late Eretz-Yisrael sage whose rulings reach the Bavli through the traffic between the two centres.

Of Sepphoris.
