רבי אלעזר ברבי יוסי Rabbi Elazar berabbi Yose
Tanna · 4th generation (c. 135–170 CE) — named 23 times across 11 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Elazar berabbi Yose, of the fourth tannaitic generation, was a son of Rabbi Yose ben Chalafta. The Bavli writes him with both spellings of the name, Elazar and Eliezer, and the roster holds them as the one man.
He is named a little over twenty times across eleven tractates, heaviest in Megillah and Zevachim, and stands most often beside Rabban Shimon ben Gamliel and his own father. Like his brothers he belongs to the last tannaitic generation, whose rulings Rebbi weighed in compiling the Mishnah.
Son of Rabbi Yose.
