The Sages of the Talmud

רבי חזקיה Rabbi Chizkiya

Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation (c. 290–320 CE) — named 23 times across 3 tractates of the Bavli.

Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation×23 named in the Bavli3 tractates

Rabbi Chizkiya, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael. Twenty-one of his twenty-three mentions are in Shekalim, whose Gemara in our Shas is the Yerushalmi's rather than the Bavli's, so that this sage of the land is almost invisible in the Babylonian Talmud proper and fully present in the one tractate that carries the other Gemara.

He carries teachings in the names of Rabbi Yose and Rav Chisda, and appears among the Eretz-Yisrael amoraim of his generation. This bio says what the corpus says and stops there.

Of Eretz Yisrael.
