רבי חלבו Rabbi Chelbo
Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation (c. 290–320 CE) — named 45 times across 17 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Chelbo, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, came from Babylonia, and his standing in the Talmud is largely that of a transmitter: he is quoted in another's name some twenty-two times, nearly always Rav Huna's, and the formula Rabbi Chelbo said in the name of Rav Huna introduces some of the Bavli's best-known teachings on prayer and on the honour due to others.
Among them is the ruling that one who knows his neighbour is accustomed to greet him should greet him first, and the teachings on the care a man owes his wife. He is named some forty-five times, heaviest in Berachot and Megillah.
Speaks constantly in Rav Huna's name.
