רבי אלכסנדרי Rabbi Alexandri
Amora of the Land of Israel · 3rd generation (c. 290–320 CE) — named 20 times across 10 tractates of the Bavli.
Rabbi Alexandri, of the third amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, was an aggadist, and the Bavli keeps two of his private prayers. In one he asks to be set in a corner of light and not a corner of darkness; in the other he says before God that it is revealed and known that our will is to do His will, and what prevents it is the yeast in the dough and the subjection of the kingdoms.
He is named some twenty times across ten tractates, heaviest in Sanhedrin, Berachot and Nedarim, and he carries teachings in the names of Rabbi Chiya bar Abba and Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi.
An aggadist of Eretz Yisrael.
