Rabbi Acha bar Papa, of the fourth amoraic generation in Eretz Yisrael, is named five times, three of them in Bava Kamma and the others in Sanhedrin and Shabbat.

He is cited beside Rabbi Abba and Rabbi Chanina bar Papa. The roster marks the entry for review, since the many sages called Acha are not always separated by the Bavli's forms; beyond his generation and his centre, little more can be said with confidence.

Rarely cited.
