The Sages of the Talmud

נתאי הארבלי Nitai of Arbel

Zugot · 2nd Pair (c. 170 BCE – 10 CE) — named 1 time across 1 tractate of the Bavli.

Zugot · 2nd Pair×1 named in the Bavli1 tractate

Nitai of Arbel belongs to the second of the five Pairs, serving with Yehoshua ben Perachya in the generations before Hillel and Shammai.

His is the counsel to keep far from a bad neighbour, not to join oneself to a wicked man, and not to despair of retribution. In this corpus his name is written once, in Chagigah, among the Pairs — a single occurrence for a sage whose place in the chain of transmission is fixed and early, and whose teaching is known to anyone who has learned Avot.

Of the second pair.
