2 Samuel 12:23

וַיֹּאמְרוּ עֲבָדָיו אֵלָיו מָֽה־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָה בַּעֲבוּר הַיֶּלֶד חַי צַמְתָּ וַתֵּבְךְּ וְכַֽאֲשֶׁר מֵת הַיֶּלֶד קַמְתָּ וַתֹּאכַל לָֽחֶם

Then said his servants unto him: ‘What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.’

וַיֹּאמֶר בְּעוֹד הַיֶּלֶד חַי צַמְתִּי וָֽאֶבְכֶּה כִּי אָמַרְתִּי מִי יוֹדֵעַ יחנני יְהוָה וְחַי הַיָּֽלֶד

And he said: ‘While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept; for I said: Who knoweth whether the LORD will not be gracious to me, that the child may live?

וַיְנַחֵם דָּוִד אֵת בַּת־שֶׁבַע אִשְׁתּוֹ וַיָּבֹא אֵלֶיהָ וַיִּשְׁכַּב עִמָּהּ וַתֵּלֶד בֵּן ויקרא אֶת־שְׁמוֹ שְׁלֹמֹה וַיהוָה אֲהֵבֽוֹ

And David comforted Bath-sheba his wife, and went in unto her, and lay with her; and she bore a son, and called his name Solomon. And the LORD loved him;

וַיִּשְׁלַח בְּיַד נָתָן הַנָּבִיא וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־שְׁמוֹ יְדִידְיָהּ בַּעֲבוּר יְהוָֽה

and He sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet, and he called his name Jedidiah, for the LORD’S sake.
