וַיִּשְׁפֹּט שְׁמוּאֵל אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל כֹּל יְמֵי חַיָּֽיו
And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
וְהָלַךְ מִדֵּי שָׁנָה בְּשָׁנָה וְסָבַב בֵּֽית־אֵל וְהַגִּלְגָּל וְהַמִּצְפָּה וְשָׁפַט אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵת כָּל־הַמְּקוֹמוֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה
And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.
וּתְשֻׁבָתוֹ הָרָמָתָה כִּֽי־שָׁם בֵּיתוֹ וְשָׁם שָׁפָט אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּֽבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַֽיהוָֽה
And his return was to Ramah, for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and he built there an altar unto the LORD.
וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר זָקֵן שְׁמוּאֵל וַיָּשֶׂם אֶת־בָּנָיו שֹׁפְטִים לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
וַיְהִי שֶׁם־בְּנוֹ הַבְּכוֹר יוֹאֵל וְשֵׁם מִשְׁנֵהוּ אֲבִיָּה שֹׁפְטִים בִּבְאֵר שָֽׁבַע
Now the name of his first-born was Joel; and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beer-sheba.
