וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן קָבַר אַבְרָהָם אֶת־שָׂרָה אִשְׁתּוֹ אֶל־מְעָרַת שְׂדֵה הַמַּכְפֵּלָה עַל־פְּנֵי מַמְרֵא הִוא חֶבְרוֹן בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָֽעַן
And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre—the same is Hebron—in the land of Canaan.
וַיָּקָם הַשָּׂדֶה וְהַמְּעָרָה אֲשֶׁר־בּוֹ לְאַבְרָהָם לַאֲחֻזַּת־קָבֶר מֵאֵת בְּנֵי־חֵֽת
And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a burying-place by the children of Heth.
וְאַבְרָהָם זָקֵן בָּא בַּיָּמִים וַֽיהוָה בֵּרַךְ אֶת־אַבְרָהָם בַּכֹּֽל
And Abraham was old, well stricken in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְרָהָם אֶל־עַבְדּוֹ זְקַן בֵּיתוֹ הַמֹּשֵׁל בְּכָל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ שִֽׂים־נָא יָדְךָ תַּחַת יְרֵכִֽי
And Abraham said unto his servant, the elder of his house, that ruled over all that he had: ‘Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh.
וְאַשְׁבִּיעֲךָ בַּֽיהוָה אֱלֹהֵי הַשָּׁמַיִם וֵֽאלֹהֵי הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־תִקַּח אִשָּׁה לִבְנִי מִבְּנוֹת הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי יוֹשֵׁב בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ
And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.
