אֶתְכְּרִיַּת רוּחִי אֲנָה דָנִיֵּאל בְּגוֹא נִדְנֶה וְחֶזְוֵי רֵאשִׁי יְבַהֲלֻנַּֽנִי
As for me Daniel, my spirit was pained in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head affrighted me. .
קִרְבֵת עַל־חַד מִן־קָאֲמַיָּא וְיַצִּיבָא אֶבְעֵֽא־מִנֵּהּ עַֽל־כָּל־דְּנָה וַאֲמַר־לִי וּפְשַׁר מִלַּיָּא יְהוֹדְעִנַּֽנִי
I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things:
אִלֵּין חֵיוָתָא רַבְרְבָתָא דִּי אִנִּין אַרְבַּע אַרְבְּעָה מַלְכִין יְקוּמוּן מִן־אַרְעָֽא
’These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, that shall arise out of the earth.
וִֽיקַבְּלוּן מַלְכוּתָא קַדִּישֵׁי עֶלְיוֹנִין וְיַחְסְנוּן מַלְכוּתָא עַֽד־עָלְמָא וְעַד עָלַם עָלְמַיָּֽא
But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.’
אֱדַיִן צְבִית לְיַצָּבָא עַל־חֵֽיוְתָא רְבִיעָיְתָא דִּֽי־הֲוָת שָֽׁנְיָה מִן־כלהון דְּחִילָה יַתִּירָה שניה דִּֽי־פַרְזֶל וְטִפְרַיהּ דִּֽי־נְחָשׁ אָֽכְלָה מַדֲּקָה וּשְׁאָרָא בְּרַגְלַיהּ רָֽפְסָֽה
Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth beast, which was diverse from all of them, exceeding terrible, whose teeth were of iron, and its nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet;
