אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי אֶֽחֱזֶה־לִּי וְעֵינַי רָאוּ וְלֹא־זָר כָּלוּ כִלְיֹתַי בְּחֵקִֽי
Whom I, even I, shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another’s. My reins are consumed within me.
כִּי תֹאמְרוּ מַה־נִּרְדָּף־לוֹ וְשֹׁרֶשׁ דָּבָר נִמְצָא־בִֽי
If ye say: ‘How we will persecute him! ’ Seeing that the root of the matter is found in me;
גּוּרוּ לָכֶם מִפְּנֵי־חֶרֶב כִּֽי־חֵמָה עֲוֺנוֹת חָרֶב לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן שדין
Be ye afraid of the sword; For wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, That ye may know there is a judgment.
וַיַּעַן צֹפַר הַנַּֽעֲמָתִי וַיֹּאמַֽר
Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said:
לָכֵן שְׂעִפַּי יְשִׁיבוּנִי וּבַעֲבוּר חוּשִׁי בִֽי
Therefore do my thoughts give answer to me, Even by reason of mine agitation that is in me.
