יָסֵר מֵעָלַי שִׁבְטוֹ וְאֵמָתוֹ אַֽל־תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּי
Let Him take His rod away from me, And let not His terror make me afraid;
אַֽדַבְּרָה וְלֹא אִירָאֶנּוּ כִּי לֹא־כֵן אָנֹכִי עִמָּדִֽי
Then would I speak, and not fear Him; For I am not so with myself.
נָֽקְטָה נַפְשִׁי בְּחַיָּי אֶֽעֶזְבָה עָלַי שִׂיחִי אֲדַבְּרָה בְּמַר נַפְשִֽׁי
My soul is weary of my life; I will give free course to my complaint; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.
אֹמַר אֶל־אֱלוֹהַּ אַל־תַּרְשִׁיעֵנִי הֽוֹדִיעֵנִי עַל מַה־תְּרִיבֵֽנִי
I will say unto God: Do not condemn me; Make me know wherefore Thou contendest with me.
הֲטוֹב לְךָ כִּֽי־תַעֲשֹׁק כִּֽי־תִמְאַס יְגִיעַ כַּפֶּיךָ וְעַל־עֲצַת רְשָׁעִים הוֹפָֽעְתָּ
Is it good unto Thee that Thou shouldest oppress, That Thou shouldest despise the work of Thy hands, And shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
