לְֽשׁוֹן־שֶׁקֶר יִשְׂנָא דַכָּיו וּפֶה חָלָק יַעֲשֶׂה מִדְחֶֽה
A lying tongue hateth those that are crushed by it; And a flattering mouth worketh ruin.
אַֽל־תִּתְהַלֵּל בְּיוֹם מָחָר כִּי לֹא־תֵדַע מַה־יֵּלֶד יֽוֹם
Boast not thyself of to- morrow; For thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
יְהַלֶּלְךָ זָר וְלֹא־פִיךָ נָכְרִי וְאַל־שְׂפָתֶֽיךָ
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; A stranger, and not thine own lips.
כֹּֽבֶד־אֶבֶן וְנֵטֶל הַחוֹל וְכַעַס אֱוִיל כָּבֵד מִשְּׁנֵיהֶֽם
A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; But a fool’s vexation is heavier than they both.
אַכְזְרִיּוּת חֵמָה וְשֶׁטֶף אָף וּמִי יַעֲמֹד לִפְנֵי קִנְאָֽה
Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; But who is able to stand before jealousy?
