אַחֲרִיתוֹ כְּנָחָשׁ יִשָּׁךְ וּֽכְצִפְעֹנִי יַפְרִֽשׁ
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like a basilisk.
עֵינֶיךָ יִרְאוּ זָרוֹת וְלִבְּךָ יְדַבֵּר תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת
Thine eyes shall behold strange things, and thy heart shall utter confused things.
וְהָיִיתָ כְּשֹׁכֵב בְּלֶב־יָם וּכְשֹׁכֵב בְּרֹאשׁ חִבֵּֽל
Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
הִכּוּנִי בַל־חָלִיתִי הֲלָמוּנִי בַּל־יָדָעְתִּי מָתַי אָקִיץ אוֹסִיף אֲבַקְשֶׁנּוּ עֽוֹד
’They have struck me, and I felt it not, they have beaten me, and I knew it not; when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.’
אַל־תְּקַנֵּא בְּאַנְשֵׁי רָעָה וְאַל־תתאו לִהְיוֹת אִתָּֽם
Be not thou envious of evil men, Neither desire to be with them.
