הֹדוּ לַיהוָה כִּי־טוֹב כִּי לְעוֹלָם חַסְדּֽוֹ
'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, For His mercy endureth for ever.'
יֹאמְרוּ גְּאוּלֵי יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָם מִיַּד־צָֽר
So let the redeemed of the LORD say, Whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;
וּֽמֵאֲרָצוֹת קִבְּצָם מִמִּזְרָח וּמִֽמַּעֲרָב מִצָּפוֹן וּמִיָּֽם
And gathered them out of the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the sea.
תָּעוּ בַמִּדְבָּר בִּישִׁימוֹן דָּרֶךְ עִיר מוֹשָׁב לֹא מָצָֽאוּ
They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; They found no city of habitation.
רְעֵבִים גַּם־צְמֵאִים נַפְשָׁם בָּהֶם תִּתְעַטָּֽף
Hungry and thirsty, Their soul fainted in them.
