וּמַאֲכָֽלְךָ אֲשֶׁר תֹּאכֲלֶנּוּ בְּמִשְׁקוֹל עֶשְׂרִים שֶׁקֶל לַיּוֹם מֵעֵת עַד־עֵת תֹּאכֲלֶֽנּוּ
And thy food which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day; from time to time shalt thou eat it.
וּמַיִם בִּמְשׂוּרָה תִשְׁתֶּה שִׁשִּׁית הַהִין מֵעֵת עַד־עֵת תִּשְׁתֶּֽה
Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of a hin; from time to time shalt thou drink.
וְעֻגַת שְׂעֹרִים תֹּֽאכֲלֶנָּה וְהִיא בְּגֶֽלְלֵי צֵאַת הָֽאָדָם תְּעֻגֶנָה לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם
And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it in their sight with dung that cometh out of man.’
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה כָּכָה יֹאכְלוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־לַחְמָם טָמֵא בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר אַדִּיחֵם שָֽׁם
And the LORD said: ‘Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations whither I will drive them.’
וָאֹמַר אֲהָהּ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנֵּה נַפְשִׁי לֹא מְטֻמָּאָה וּנְבֵלָה וּטְרֵפָה לֹֽא־אָכַלְתִּי מִנְּעוּרַי וְעַד־עַתָּה וְלֹא־בָא בְּפִי בְּשַׂר פִּגּֽוּל
Then said I: ‘Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted; for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts; neither came there abhorred flesh into my mouth.’
