אֵיךְ נִלְכְּדָה שֵׁשַׁךְ וַתִּתָּפֵשׂ תְּהִלַּת כָּל־הָאָרֶץ אֵיךְ הָיְתָה לְשַׁמָּה בָּבֶל בַּגּוֹיִֽם
How is Sheshach taken! And the praise of the whole earth seized! How is Babylon become an astonishment Among the nations!
עָלָה עַל־בָּבֶל הַיָּם בַּהֲמוֹן גַּלָּיו נִכְסָֽתָה
The sea is come up upon Babylon; She is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof.
הָיוּ עָרֶיהָ לְשַׁמָּה אֶרֶץ צִיָּה וַעֲרָבָה אֶרֶץ לֹֽא־יֵשֵׁב בָּהֵן כָּל־אִישׁ וְלֹֽא־יַעֲבֹר בָּהֵן בֶּן־אָדָֽם
Her cities are become a desolation, A dry land, and a desert, A land wherein no man dwelleth, Neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
וּפָקַדְתִּי עַל־בֵּל בְּבָבֶל וְהֹצֵאתִי אֶת־בִּלְעוֹ מִפִּיו וְלֹֽא־יִנְהֲרוּ אֵלָיו עוֹד גּוֹיִם גַּם־חוֹמַת בָּבֶל נָפָֽלָה
And I will punish Bel in Babylon, And I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up, And the nations shall not flow any more unto him; Yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.
צְאוּ מִתּוֹכָהּ עַמִּי וּמַלְּטוּ אִישׁ אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ מֵחֲרוֹן אַף־יְהוָֽה
My people, go ye out of the midst of her, And save yourselves every man From the fierce anger of the LORD.
