בָּאָה קָרְחָה אֶל־עַזָּה נִדְמְתָה אַשְׁקְלוֹן שְׁאֵרִית עִמְקָם עַד־מָתַי תִּתְגּוֹדָֽדִי
Baldness is come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is brought to nought, the remnant of their valley; how long wilt thou cut thyself?
הוֹי חֶרֶב לַֽיהוָה עַד־אָנָה לֹא תִשְׁקֹטִי הֵאָֽסְפִי אַל־תַּעְרֵךְ הֵרָגְעִי וָדֹֽמִּי
O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
אֵיךְ תִּשְׁקֹטִי וַֽיהוָה צִוָּה־לָהּ אֶֽל־אַשְׁקְלוֹן וְאֶל־חוֹף הַיָּם שָׁם יְעָדָֽהּ
How canst thou be quiet? For the LORD hath given it a charge; against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath He appointed it.
לְמוֹאָב כֹּֽה־אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוֹי אֶל־נְבוֹ כִּי שֻׁדָּדָה הֹבִישָׁה נִלְכְּדָה קִרְיָתָיִם הֹבִישָׁה הַמִּשְׂגָּב וָחָֽתָּה
Of Moab. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled; Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; Misgab is put to shame and dismayed.
אֵין עוֹד תְּהִלַּת מוֹאָב בְּחֶשְׁבּוֹן חָשְׁבוּ עָלֶיהָ רָעָה לְכוּ וְנַכְרִיתֶנָּה מִגּוֹי גַּם־מַדְמֵן תִּדֹּמִּי אַחֲרַיִךְ תֵּלֶךְ חָֽרֶב
The praise of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: ‘Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation.’ Thou also, O Madmen, shalt be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue thee.
