הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר הָיָה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָהוּ מֵאֵת יְהוָה לֵאמֹֽר
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying:
קוּם וְיָרַדְתָּ בֵּית הַיּוֹצֵר וְשָׁמָּה אַשְׁמִֽיעֲךָ אֶת־דְּבָרָֽי
’Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear My words.’
וָאֵרֵד בֵּית הַיּוֹצֵר והנהו עֹשֶׂה מְלָאכָה עַל־הָאָבְנָֽיִם
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he was at his work on the wheels.
וְנִשְׁחַת הַכְּלִי אֲשֶׁר הוּא עֹשֶׂה בַּחֹמֶר בְּיַד הַיּוֹצֵר וְשָׁב וַֽיַּעֲשֵׂהוּ כְּלִי אַחֵר כַּאֲשֶׁר יָשַׁר בְּעֵינֵי הַיּוֹצֵר לַעֲשֽׂוֹת
And whensoever the vessel that he made of the clay was marred in the hand of the potter, he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֽוֹר
Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
