שֻׁלְחָן עָרוּךְ The Shulchan Aruch
Rabbi Yosef Karo’s code of Jewish law — 4 chelakim, 1,704 simanim, 13,393 se’ifim
The Hebrew is complete in all four chelakim, from public-domain editions: the vocalized Torat Emet text for Orach Chayim, Yoreh De’ah and Even HaEzer, and the Lemberg 1898 printing — unpointed, and its pages say so — for Choshen Mishpat. The text is the printed page entire: the mechaber's rulings with the Rema's glosses set inside them, marked הגה, exactly as the editions print them. The English is drawn, se’if by se’if, from the permissively-licensed translations that exist, and each page credits exactly the editions on it; a se’if without one says so rather than leaving a blank. An English line here is a rendering of the words, not a ruling — practical halacha is learned with a rav.
