Father of Leah and Rachel and brother of Rivkah, who hosted Yaakov in Charan, gave him his daughters in marriage in exchange for fourteen years of labor, and pursued him when he later fled with his family and flocks (Genesis 24, 29-31). His name is also the ordinary Hebrew word for “white,” so the count includes both uses.
