The 613 mitzvot

Sefer HaChinuch — anonymous, 13th-century Spain. It walks the Torah in order and files each mitzvah under the parsha whose verses command it, which is why this view is grouped by portion rather than split positive and negative. Its titles are its own wording, in a steady convention: מצות… for a thing to be done, שלא… for a thing forbidden. 577 of the 613 open with a source verse, linked into our own text.

Both are authentic enumerations of the same 613 commandments. Their gematria differs from one another because the words differ — each tradition titles the mitzvot in its own language — not because the count does.
