Rabbi Yishmael berabbi Yochanan ben Beroka, of the third tannaitic generation, is cited in the Bavli together with his father, Rabbi Yochanan ben Beroka, and often in his father's name.

He stands at no mentions under this spelling only because the Bavli writes him differently — as the son of Rabbi Yochanan ben Beroka, in words rather than in the contracted form — and that spelling carries its own entry in the roster, where all his citations are counted. The two entries are one man under two ways of writing him.

Cited with his father.

The gematria of the name

Computed from the consonantal letters of רבי ישמעאל ברבי יוחנן בן ברוקה by the same engine that runs every search. This is the value of a NAME — no word of the Talmud is valued anywhere in this app.

This corpus never writes this name on its own. Either the Bavli does not name him at all, or every form it uses is one a sage of the same name also answers to — and this index credits nobody rather than guessing. He is in the roster, at zero, because leaving him out would be its own kind of lie.
